PIP Implant Silicone Has Been Used in Other Brands

The scandal involving PIP breast implants which were manufactured by the now defunct Poly Implant Prosthese has been sweeping Europe. Since it began the PIP event has grown to include brands that many thought had been safe, including Tibreeze implants, Rofil implants and even M-implants, all of which have been under as much scrutiny as the original faulty silicone. But why? And what, exactly, happened?

The PIP implants that were used in breast augmentation surgery were approved by a European Union process that marks the items with a CE. All items marked with this symbol, including the aforementioned M-implants, Rofil implants and Tibreeze implants, are thereafter allowed to be used in England. The problem is that these products are not re-examined by English boards until a problem occurs, which can lead to some unfortunate problems with quality control. That is what happened with the original PIP implants, which had disguised the fact that they were using silicone that was not up to the standards of medical requirements. For those that don’t realize the problem, silicone that isn’t up to that grade can create a major emergency if the implant leaks or ruptures, and in some cases silicone can bond with the patient’s body, leading to all sorts of problems that may not be fixable without surgery. The official statement by the British government is that all patients should get themselves checked out, but the implants should be removed only in the case where there’s damage to them or when it might hurt the patient further to leave them in. After all, surgery shouldn’t be done unless it’s absolutely necessary, though the call has been left up to what the doctor and the patient agree is best. However, as investigations have proceeded it’s been uncovered that PIP silicone may be present in other breast implant brands. As such all women with breast implants, including the Rofil implants brand, Tibreeze implants and M-implants are urged to see their doctors and get the status of their implants examined to be sure that they are in fact safe and aren’t causing any problems in the patients’ bodies that will lead to future problems and a need for additional surgery to correct as the years go past.

PIP Implant Compensation Claims paying out in the US

It was recently uncovered in a recent investigation in France, that PIP implants were an unsafe product. This was an in depth investigation that was done in December of 2011. If you have had PIP implants, then you may be entitled to a PIP implant compensation.

During this investigation, it was discovered that industrial silicone was being used instead of medical grade fillers. This is silicone gel that is actually intended for use in mattresses. The problem is that this type of silicone is far more likely to leak and even rupture. PIP implant claims that are being made all over the world because of this.

Any patient who has had this done privately will be protected under the Sale of goods act of 1979. This means that you may be entitled to PIP implant claims. In France PIP ruptures are at around 5%. PIP ruptures are estimated to be at around 7% in the UK, but there is a deep fear that it could be even higher than that. The damage that is done is done, but a PIP implant compensation claim can at least make you feel better.

This industrial silicone has even been linked to a rare form of cancer that is known as ALCL. A PIP implant compensation cannot take back the damage that was done, but it can at least make you feel better.

In the UK there is an estimated amount of around 40,000 women who have had implants. Over 95% of these women have implants which were done privately due to cosmetic purposes. If you or someone you love has had PIP implants, then they might be entitled to a claim. Do not wait around until it is too late.

The time for PIP implant claims is right now. The companies who did this to people got greedy, and so they deserve to be punished. We need to teach these people a lesson for doing what they did, and the advantage of PIP implant compensation, is that it shows these greedy companies that we are not going to allow them to do this to us.

PIP implant claims are not just for you, but for every person that PIP implants hurt. It will make companies like this think twice. If you do not stand up and deem this unacceptable, then these companies will not feel the consequences of their actions and will continue to do such things.

PIP Breast Implants – Am I at Risk?

IMPLANTS_MAIN_1430326a

The latest PIP implant news update reveals that there are as many as 47,000 women along with thousands more in the UK that could have obtained these hazardous implants. The French and UK regulatory authorities performed testing, which showed that the gel inside these pip implants was not really damaging the DNA inside or in the nearby breast cells, but it is still a cause of concern for many. Reason is that any such damage would mean it’s a possible trigger for cancer.

Should you worry?
The risk factors for breast cancer includes: Age (usually 50 or older), gender (being a woman ups your risk), family history, weight (obesity increases your risk), and lifestyle. If you have managed to tick a box or two from this list and add the factor of having non conforming silicone in your body, your risk can be even higher than average. Despite all the media write ups and latest pip implant news stating that these implants do not cause cancer, experts reveal that previous MHRA has given advice only on the data given to them. There was no robust scientific data collection in the UK to ensure an accurate recording of problems caused by the pip implant risks. Experts believe that simply stating that the numbers from UK on rupture are lower than the numbers in France holds no weight. As a result, the pip implants can cause problems even when they have not ruptured.PIP Implant Risks include:
1. Inflammation can occur if the silicone is outside of the implant and can ultimately reach adjacent or remote tissues when left untreated.

2. Latest PIP implant news on the French regulator states that cancer tests have proved to be negative, but no proof or guarantees have been offered or made public.

3. The pip implants could leak without rupturing and normal ultrasounds will not be able to rule out this possibility.

All of which, therefore, should cause the UK to take a precautionary stance to remove the implants. They should never have been used on humans to begin with. As pip implant news spreads, breast experts are hoping that more and more women will opt to have these implants removed immediately. The PIP implant risks just purely outweigh any possible benefits that they could bring to patrons.

Do you have PIP implants and experiencing any of these symptoms?

- Lumpiness of the breast
- Swelling in the area around the breast
- A nodule or pea like material in your breast
- Breast shape change
- Itching sensations on the breast
- Pain or sensitivity around the bust area

If you answered yes to any of these questions, get an urgent checkup and sign up immediately for a class action lawsuit. Woman of the United Kingdom have every right to be worried and concerned. Be alarmed even if you have not experienced any symptoms. Remember the component on these pip implants are non-medically graded so no one knows for sure whether or not there could be long term PIP implant risks from having them retained in the body.

1000′s of women in the UK sign up to class action

PIP breast implants protest

Currently, at least 7,000 additional women are considered at risk from potentially defective and faulty PIP implants for breasts. Andrew Lansley, UK Health Secretary indicated that the French regulator has confirmed the number of women affected is anticipated to be even higher.

French authorities have said that the faulty PIP implants were manufactured by the now defunct French firm, Poly Implant Prothese. In addition, it is suspected that only those implants used beyond 2001 could have included an unauthorised gel, consisting of industrial-grade silicone.

The type of gel used in the implants is typically intended for and used in constructing mattresses. It is dangerous to use it in breast implants, as if they rupture, the toxic silicone could enter body tissues. This is why some women may be entitled to PIP implant compensation.

A UK medical safety watchdog group has uncovered that these contaminated and faulty PIP implants could have been administered to women since as early as 1997 in Britain. This substantially raises the number of women who could be at risk, as an estimated 47,000 women might have been given those implants.

Because so many patients are not aware of the type of potentially faulty PIP implants they may have, it will be impossible to reach all of the affected women. To that end UK Health Secretary Lansley has spearheaded a further review to expose possible dangers associated with implants and has urged women to visit their physicians to ascertain what kind of implants were used in their procedures.

The majority of procedures that involved PIP implants were performed in private medical offices, including the Harley Medical Group and the Transform organization. Recently, general practitioners had referred as many as 4,534 patients for NHS care who had gotten PIP implants from private clinic settings.

Mark Harvey of Hugh James solicitors has called for an official inquiry into the regulation of medical products and devices by the UK and all across Europe. Thousands of women across Europe begin to sign up to petitions on Facebook to have the NHS or private surgeons remove and replace their faulty PIP Implants for free.

The UK Law community however are sceptical and have urged the women affected to register a right to claim to ensure they will be able to have their implants removed and replaced for free as well as receiving compensation to cover time off work and trauma.

PIP Implants – What are the risks?

Breast-Implants-Breast-Plastic-Surgery11

Cosmetic surgery is a rapidly growing industry. The stigma and shame of cosmetic surgery is long gone, and now many are seeking to improve their appearance and confidence via surgical means. Unfortunately like all medical procedures, even cosmetic surgery can go wrong. Breast implants are one of the most complex surgeries as they involve introducing implants of foreign material into the body, often beneath muscular tissue. While there have been significant advances in these surgeries in recent years, there is still the possibility that something can go wrong.

PIP breast implants are silicone gel implants manufactured by the French company Poly Implant Prothese. While breast implant ruptures can occur with many brands, these particularly implants have an increased risk as well as concerns about their material. Breast implant ruptures can be dangerous as they are not always immediately noticed, and some women can have adverse reaction to ruptures or leakage of the silicone gel. The gel released during breast implant ruptures can create inflammation and pain, and any breast implants suspected of rupturing need to be removed or replaced by a professional.PIP implant risks include an increased tendency to rupture and a propensity towards leakage, both of which can lead to inflammation, pain and even infection. These risks are exacerbated by the fact that they were created using industrial grade silicone rather than medical grade silicone gel. This increases PIP implant risks because while medical grade silicone gel rarely adversely affects the body, industrial grade silicone has a higher chance of a reaction. While increased reports of cancer were initially reported with PIP implants, closer study has revealed that this is not one of the PIP implant risks.

Those who have, or suspect they have, PIP implants should look for the following warning signs: lumps or swelling in the area, a change in shape of the breasts and redness, tenderness or pain. Whether or not to preemptively remove these implants due to the PIP implant risks has been debated: most say they should not be removed until there is a problem, but that if the patient is concerned removing it right away is still an option. Funds for these removals or replacements may be available from the government, and many feel that it is better to be proactive and safe.

Most people are uncomfortable with at least one aspect of their bodies. It’s just human nature to be overly critical of one’s self image, even if the perceived flaw isn’t recognised by others. Though appearances can be altered artificially by clothing and accessories, these types of alterations are merely illusions. Makeup and wardrobe can only go so far because the effect is temporary and fleeting. When people want a more permanent alteration they must seek cosmetic surgery.

Breast augmentation is one of the leading cosmetic procedures in the industry. Each year thousands of women have their breasts enhanced, reduced or altered in shape. When one goes through surgery, there is always a chance of error. When your eager to get cosmetic surgery and end up with a complication, the results can be devastating.

In 2011, it was estimated that nearly 40,o00 women had gotten a pip implant, but recent pip implant news has revealed the number to be about 47,000 women in the United Kingdom. Many of these women have been negatively affected by their breast implants, manufactured by Poly Implant Prothese. Faulty pip implants have been given to thousands of women who had no idea that the implants would be defective. The implants themselves have a very thin outer lining of silicone compared to implants that are safe and medically stable. The implants also contain industrial silicone which is very toxic and illegal to use for medicinal purposes. The result is that faulty pip implants have actually been rupturing in the patient’s body, causing great distress.

Rupture creates extreme pain in the patient and the toxins from the silicone could create further complications. Implants that have not ruptured have also been prone to gel leakage which is also quite painful and debilitating. The latest in pip implant news has been that women who’ve been affected by faulty pip implants need to register to have their case evaluated by the High Court, which is supporting a Group Litigation Claim for women seeking personal injury claims.

If patients have not yet experienced complication with their implants, they are still urged to seek removal if concerns regarding the implants arise. Even if patients have yet to have medical problems associated with their pip implants, a monetary award may still be possible on their behalf.

If you or someone you know has a pip implant, please stay tuned to all the latest pip implant news and further information regarding litigation procedures and personal care.

PIP insurance will not pay out

PIP Claim Denied

The insurance company who covered the French company Poly Implant Prosthese have refused to pay out any insurance claims. This has left many people around the world outraged as hundreds of thousands of women are left with faulty implants and now are expected to foot the bill to have them removed and replaced.

The NHS in the UK have offered to remove the implants that were fitted by them however they are not offering to replace them. Some women have already paid to have their implants replaced however this is just not feasible for most.

Lauren Pope the former glamour model who now runs her own business had her implants removed and replaced at a cost of around £4000. Many of our readers are women who have implants fitted and one of the biggest concerns after the health risk is the financial worry of having to pay to have the faulty pip implants removed and new implants fitted.

There are a number of law firms in Europe, the US and Australia who have already discussed the potential of legal action under the sale of goods act and are warning women to register with them as soon as possible before the doors are closed.

We are working with a number of other solicitors across the UK and internationally, and have made great progress so far however the opportunity will only last so long” – Andy Grey of Simpson Grey Associates

PIP Breast Implants Hit The Headlines Again

Plastic surgeon Boucq displays a silicone gel breast implant manufactured by French company Poly Implant Prothese (PIP) in a clinic in Nice

The latest pip implant news could cause worry for women with implants in the UK. In December, it was revealed that breast implants called PIP implants contained inferior product materials. Since 5% to 7% of implants can fail, this news is very troubling. In fact, some governments have called for the removal of implants. At this time, the UK government is encouraging women with the implants to monitor the situation.

Breast implants should be filled with medical grade silicon. Instead, according to the latest pip implant news, these particular implants were filled with industrial grade silicon. This type of silicon is used in manufacturing processes, and not in medical procedures. Because these breast implants can leak or burst, the industrial grade silicon filler can pose a significant health risk for the user. Industrial grade silicon is known to cause a variety of healthy problems.

According to records, over 47,000 UK women have PIP implants at this time. Signs of problems can include lumps in the breast, swollen breasts, or redness and pain. If women with implants are experiencing these symptoms or a significant change in the appearance of their breasts, they should make an appointment with their doctor as soon as possible.

While the UK government is not recommending that the implants be removed, women with the implants may be able to receive financial compensation by filing a claim with a legal firm or lawyer. Women may also be entitled to other compensation. According to the latest pip implant news from mid-March, a woman filed a complaint with her credit card company using the “faulty goods” law. The company upheld her claim and she received her money back. While this is a bit of good news, other women may not experience such luck.

Because the issues and the laws are very complex, women with pip implants are advised to consult a lawyer. Not only can a lawyer keep a woman updated as to the most recent legal developments in this breast implant case, but a lawyer will also be able to discuss faulty product laws and the possibility of financial compensation to pip implant users.

Glamour model goes through hell with faulty PIP breast implants

Celebrity Lauren Pope has faulty PIP implants removed

The former glamour model and celebrity Lauren Pope has spoken publicly for the first time about her ordeal with the faulty PIP breast implants she had fitted in 2005.

Lauren is one of an estimated 47,000 women in the UK fitted with the faulty PIP implants. When the news that the French company had been using industrial grade silicone to fill their implants Lauren’s first thoughts were that she would not have these implants as she had gone to a reputable Harley street surgeon and paid over £4000.

However that was not the case, like many women in this situation Lauren had heard the news but assumed that it would not affect her until one day the surgery called to inform her that in fact her implants were the faulty PIP brand.

An ultrasound scan then confirmed that one of the implants had leaked and at that point Lauren just wanted them out. So at the cost of another £4000 Lauren has now had the faulty PIP implants removed and replaced by a different surgeon.

Thousands of women in the UK have found themselves in the same position as Lauren since the news was announced in December 2011 however not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to have the £4000 required to have their implants replaced and are therefore registering with solicitors who are setting up class action suits in order to make compensation claims on their behalf.

PIP Implant Compensation may include the cost of removing the implant, replacement implants, the pain and suffering associated with removal, compensation for any additional scarring, loss of earnings, psychological damage and medical expenses.

Sunderland Woman considers making a claim against faulty PIP Implants

PIP Implant rupture

A mother from Sunderland says she’s considering legal action after faulty breast implants ruptured in her body.

Sharon Adams had the controversial PIP implants which caused her intense pain. She’s now had an operation to remove them but worries about possible long term effects on her health.

“My chest was hurting, my back was hurting. I was terrified, especially when the doctor said we don’t know how long it’s been leaking for. I breast fed all my kids so if it’s been in my body nobody knows the long term effects. But I’m so pleased they’re out now.”

– SHARON ADAMS

Sharon had her implants on the NHS in 2002 after years of breastfeeding and she’s had them replaced for free. The government announced last week that 7000 more women have potentially faulty PIP implants than previously thought – all made by a French manufacturer that has now closed.

It’s not against the NHS if I do take legal action it’s against those who should have regulated these implants. There’s no way they should have allowed these to get put in people’s bodies without being checked.”

– SHARON ADAMS
